| Moving blog .... |
I’m moving my blog back to my website. Gives me much more control, not only over the actual blog, but now I get better stats. And its WORDPRESS!! wewt. Also, Windstream (the ISP formally known as Alltel) blows. Majorly. My blog now resides, once again, on my website, located here: http://riscit.info/blog/Labels: randomness, websites |

| Call of Duty 4 |
Oh man, man oh man. Call of Duty 4 rocks. Hardcore. So instead of doing World War II based, its a modern type shooter (think Battlefield 2), but its totally better than any other FPS right now.
The story line, holy lols, is so great for a game. I've never played anything that has a story line and plot so very well developed. I played it straight though in one sitting (total of 6-7 hours), so its not really long.
I've just got a new box (Dual 3Ghz, 4GB Ram, GeForce 8400GS 512MB) and the game runs smooth as all hell on it. Graphics look sweeeeet too.
Let me include a sweet graphic from the game. It is most amazing. It gets my vote for game of the year. Run out and buy this one, you will not regret it!!

| PHP RAD Frameworks |
I'm only getting into the whole framework thing with PHP now. We're using CakePHP for one project right now. Before CakePHP I had looked at Symphony and decided for Cake. Now that I look back at that decision I wonder if perhaps it was the wrong one?
Anywhos, cakephp is working out and I love their terminology with stuff (check out their bakery).
I've found some guys list of his top rated PHP Frameworks here: mustap.com
Anyone know of any other PHP frameworks that are good?
fyi, we're also starting a cakephp blog over at cakephpblog.com with some hints and maybe some tutorials for people that are just getting started.Labels: portfolio, programming, websites |

| Asterisk For Windows |
I installed Asterisk for Windows last night and played around with it.
I must say I was suprised. Easy install. The PBX was online in less than 5 minutes with a preconfigured dialplan. To manage the PBX they have implemented the WillVoice PBX Manager which is very simple and easy to use. There is really no learning curve to it if you want to add users, voicemail settings, etc.
I installed asterisk on one of my linux boxes and it eas an easy install, but you have to make your own dialplan, which you for sure have to read how to do.
This was a simple program and I'd suggest it if you're just learning about asterisk or voip in general. I don't know about memory usage, I'll have another report once I do some stress tests on it.Labels: asterisk, voip |

| Come Get Me |
I jaywalk everyday on one street from the parking garage to my office downtown. I did it one time behind a cop car, but I guess he didn't see me. I'll keep doing it till I get ticketed or something.
I'm doin' it for the lulz.Labels: downtown, randomness |

| WOOOOOO |
Moved to a new house. Ordered some stuffs, and they had it shipped to the wrong address (in MO) ... so we'll see what happens with it. It was a nice wacom drawing tablet so I better get it soon.
My box died (three capacitors blew up) soon as I got home from the lan and got it setup. Sucks. Still no interwebs in the new house though, they say the DSL modem is in the mails. We'll see.
I now have 1.5 hours drive to work. One way. Three hours round trip. Needless to say, it blows.Labels: randomness |
